Hiwassee Ocoee State Park Region, Tennessee
“Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world.” – John Muir
Project Description
This Gift Tree Planting Project is in the south eastern part of Tennessee near the Georgia border. This reforestation project will plant saplings of White Oak, Dogwood, and other hardwood tree species.
Your project focuses on restoring forests to allow long term conservation for both environmental and community benefit. Environmental benefits include soil stability, erosion control and biodiversity improvement. The planting of these new trees will also help in watershed water quality improvements as the trees mature. The tree growth will also help in the fight against climate change. The reforestation will also provide opportunities for public recreation.

area as well as its location in Tennessee, the United States, and the world. The link is best viewed on a
personal computer as opposed to a cell phone. Please understand that this is the general area of the tree planting. Your
tree would be planted among thousands of other gift trees and there is no plaque designating the gift
tree and visiting the tree is unfortunately not possible.

opening a new doorway to the world for future generations. If you have any questions, please
